We are now accepting Resumes for the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager. 

 

Mia Margherita’s coal-fired oven celebrates pizza in its original intention. Our pizza dough is made in house. Every pizza is hand stretched and tossed by our pizzaiolos in front of our guests. The intensity of the coal-fired heat allows us to produce a very light, beautifully crispy, Neapolitan-style pizza. Moisture is retained at the center of the pie, so it's slightly chewy, too, giving customers the best of both worlds.

 

Mia Margherita also serves a variety of classic Italian dishes. We use high quality and fresh ingredients throughout our kitchen including making our own Bolognese and marinara sauces. The restaurant seats 125 people and offers a main dining room, full bar, private dining room, covered outdoor patio and a retail market. We are consistently rated the #1 restaurant in Bridgeport on Yelp and Trip Advisor.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and energetic individual to help manage day to day operations of this high volume Pizzeria Trattoria & Market.  Previous restaurant management experience is a must.  Professional references will be required.

Essential Duties and Job Functions


The Ideal Candidate for this Position:  The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who enjoys a restaurant that has strong association within the local community, who has a desire to develop staff for promotion and wants to be a part of a progressive and creative company all while being profit driven.
 
Position Summary:  The Restaurant Manager of Mia Margherita will be responsible for supervising, managing and overseeing the restaurant’s daily operations.  Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Assistant Manager of a full service restaurant.
  • Approximate full time staff under this position:  5
  • Approximate part time staff under this position:  50
  • This position reports to the Restaurant General Manager.
  • Required to work a varied schedule that may include mornings, nights, weekends and some holidays.
 
Requirements:  Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
 
Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities, Managerial Requirements, & Business Skills:
Responsibilities, skills and requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee all phases of restaurant operations.
  • Create a courteous, friendly and professional work environment through promoting an open-door atmosphere.
  • Strong track record maintaining consistent standards.
  • Lead by example.
  • Excellent history of continually training restaurant staffs including FOH, BOH and management.
  • Closely monitor guests’ dining experiences.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to increase average checks and overall revenue.
  • Run energetic, informative and motivating daily lineups.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant including FOH, BOH and all public areas.
  • Coordinate opening and closing procedures to maintain seamless day to day operations.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute special events and holiday functions.
  • Must possess clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Promote teamwork at all times.
  • Build team morale and spirit through innovative leadership.
  • Vast experience in training, cross-training and overall development of staff for promotion.
  • Instill a guest service attitude in all employees.
  • Coach employees on how to take ownership and resolve escalating conflicts.
  • Maintain a calm and organized approach in all situations.
  • Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work in an environment that will sometimes have limited support.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Heartland POS or similar systems
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional detail in follow-up with upper management, assistant managers, chefs and hourly staff as well as the guests and other members of the community.
  • Strong background with experience in cost control, producing consistent profit and familiarity with a profit and loss statements.
  • Solid scheduling experience.
  • Maintain proper sanitation and overall safety with corresponding documentation.
  • Understand and be proficient in all security operations.
  • Thorough understanding of CP Hospitality’s human resources policies and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate situations and decide on an appropriate plan of action.
  • Be creative in developing ways to market the business and continually create new business.
  • Become involved in the community through civic groups and associations
 
Educational Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Associates and or Bachelor’s Degree or Degree in Hospitality preferred.
