Mia Margherita’s coal-fired oven celebrates pizza in its original intention.
Our pizza dough is made in house. Every pizza is hand stretched and tossed by our pizzaiolos in front of our guests. The intensity of the coal-fired heat allows us to produce a very light, beautifully crispy, Neapolitan-style pizza. Moisture is retained at the center of the pie, so it's slightly chewy, too, giving customers the best of both worlds.

 

Mia Margherita also serves a variety of classic Italian dishes. We use high quality and fresh ingredients throughout our kitchen including making our own Bolognese and marinara sauces. The restaurant seats 125 people and offers a main dining room, full bar, private dining room, covered outdoor patio and a retail market. We are consistently rated the #1 restaurant in Bridgeport on Yelp and Trip Advisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Reliable attendance
  • Punctual for all scheduled shifts
  • Works well with others
  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service and prepare foods served from the kitchen to include the coal fired pizza oven, saute and pantry
  • Complete reviews of daily menus and participate in all preparation necessary for lunch and dinner service
  • Ensure all line service areas are organized to meet the day’s business demands in a timely and efficient manner
  • Review clipboards for daily events
  • Ensure food quality and kitchen sanitation is maintained to the highest standards at all times
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared to the menu specifications as determined by the restaurant SOPs
  • Ensure all line service equipment is in proper working order. Communicate any maintenance or deep cleaning needs to the General Manager, Sous Chefs, Restaurant Managers and Kitchen Leads
  • Ensure opening and closing checklists relative to production and department sanitation procedures are complete daily
  • Ensure adequate written communications are taking place from shift to shift and prior to days off
  • Ensure strong and positive lines of communication are maintained with all staff members. Keep team members aware of any changes or specials that impact service from your work station
  • Work together with all kitchen staff to ensure department is kept in optimum working order and ready for the next shift.
  • Serve as a role model for all kitchen staff in regards to teamwork, work ethic, motivation, food quality and safety/sanitation
  • Check with Sous Chef, Kitchen Lead or Manager on Duty prior to leaving at the shift's end
  • Provide impeccable food quality and guest service interaction
  • Adhere to the highest sanitation standards
